About a month ago I was contacted by the costume design company Firefly Path. They're specialized on custom fantasy wedding gowns and costumes. JoEllen, the designer, showed me her new dress and offered to send it to me for a photoshoot. I didn’t hesitate and agreed right away because the outfit was so beautiful.

When I first saw pictures of the dress it was no doubt about the idea of the photoshoot. I remembered the movie “Stardust” which I really like. Firefly Path dress reminded me a lot of main character’s Yvaine dress. So I needed stars, glitter and some magic.
I invited my friend Yana to be the model. She has already posed for me for the Moon Thief photoshoot. We did the make up and hair and went to the park. Yes in February. Yes I never look for an easy way to do a photoshoot:) Yana appeared to be a very brave and firm model. She danced in a gown in a cold winter evening throwing glitter all around herself. I guess we turned that part of the park into a fairy forest.
We waited for a certain time when it was getting dark but not completely. As usual I used my Move 1200 kit with two Mobiled flashheads on the stands. For one I used a white umbrella to fill the model with light and to another one I attached a Snoot to create direct light on model’s head and glitter. Unfortunately I didn’t have enough time to experiment with the light because it was too cold. But I’ll definitely come back to make more shots with the Snoot.
