I had been craving for a very long time to use the broncolor silver beauty dish in a photoshoot. The thing I love about beauty dishes (and especially the silver ones) is their way of shaping the light, making it really harsh and creating a beautiful contrast that works perfectly for my close-up portraits.
So I decided to create “jamais.”, a self-portrait that speaks about tiredness, nostalgia and broken hearts.
As always, I used my Pentax k3, and the Sigma 85mm F 1.4. I wanted to create a soft atmosphere, and so the aperture was very low (F 3.5) to have a deep depth of field. I used the broncolor Siros 800s with the Silver Beauty Dish, positioning it a bit on my right to add volume to my face with the shadowing. Nothing else was needed for the photoshoot.
I later retouched the selected picture with Lightroom and Photoshop, and “jamais. was complete! :)
