I recently got a job from a cosmetics company which would like to promote their colorful makeup products and requested a picture with a science fiction vibe to it.
I think blue color can help to present the mystery and science fiction atmosphere. To create a blue scene, is very simple actually; I just used a blue color filter sheet and put it in front of the background reflector and fill-in light. I didn't want a plain blue background; therefore, I cut some black paper strips and put them in front of the back light to create some strip line. The overall of lighting setup was not very complex and i was able to finish the shot within a few hours.
